Steering Wheel Emblem Inserts

From 2003 to 2017 Volvo installed steering wheels in their cars similar to the photos below. Sadly, the BLUE LOGO part of the emblem did not last very long. This has been the overwhelming experience from MANY owners. The top layer of the emblem peels or cracks and then falls off. The length of time that this emblem lasts varies depending on how much time your car stays outside in the sun, but for some customers it has been as little as one or two years.

Volvo failed to support a satisfactory solution for correcting this problem for millions of Volvo owners and I have learned that they are telling car owners to buy a new steering wheel or new airbag at customer expense.

By 2010 I had received large number of emails from Volvo owners and Volvo dealers who eventually persuaded me to develop an all new center emblem. That new blue domed emblem is what you see in the photos below. This new domed emblem is very durable and will last many years on your car. Plus it eliminates the embarrassment of a driving your beloved Volvo with an ugly, defective steering wheel emblem.

Sadly, Volvo Cars has BANNED the sale of these emblems.

<<< Is your original blue decal on your steering wheel emblem peeling or missing?
Below you'll find self-adhesive poly dome overlays made to replace the ugly or missing blue original logo. These new overlays are designed the same as the poly dome grille overlays. These have a chrome logo with a blue background.

There were THREE different sizes of blue steering wheel emblems that were produced for 2004 and later models. These three sizes are shown below.

GENERAL SIZE FITMENTS

SIZE 1: 35 x 8 mm

Fits 2008 V70, V70XC; 2007-09 S80; and 2010 XC60.

SIZE 2: 35 x 9 mm

Fits 2004-06 S40; 2003-05 XC70 and XC90; 2004-07 S60, S60R; 2004-07 V70, V70R; 2005 S80; 2009-10 XC90; 2010 V50.

SIZE 3: 47 x 10 mm

Fits 2010 XC70-T6; 2012-13 S80; 2011 to 2017 S60, V60, XC60 and XC70.

Measure the BLUE PORTION of your emblem to get an accurate size.

	<<< SIZE 1: 35 x 8 mm. This type of original Volvo emblem can be identified by a chrome frame all the way around the blue "VOLVO" decal. Fits 2008 V70, V70XC; 2007-09 S80; and 2010 XC60.
	<<< SIZE 2: 35 x 9 mm. This type of emblem is more unique. It can be identified by the thin chrome frame only on the TOP and BOTTOM of the blue "VOLVO" decal. Also the original factory blue "VOLVO" banner wraps AROUND the SIDES of the emblem. Fits 2004-06 S40; 2003-05 XC70 and XC90; 2004-07 S60, S60R; 2004-07 V70, V70R; 2005 S80; 2009-10 XC90; 2010 V50.
	<<< SIZE 3: 47 x 10 mm. Newest Style. This style is similar to SIZE 1, except larger. Fits 2010 XC70-T6; 2012-13 S80; 2011 to 2017 S60, V60, XC60 and XC70.

<<< Here is a SIZE 2 circle emblem that was repaired by a customer.
On this one the chrome finish on the ring was peeling, so he sanded it smooth and painted it silver. He then added a new domed SIZE 2 emblem.

WHAT DOES THIS FIT?: SIZE 4 is found on 1998-04 Volvos in North America (some 2004 models got SIZE 2 further above).
This SIZE 4 emblem began a bit earlier in Europe (possibly 1995+) in the S/V40 model. Printing true metallic colors, such as chrome, silver or gold, is not possible for these overlays, although they can sometimes be simulated, like in some of these photos above showing simulated 3D chrome lettering.

R DESIGN and NUMBERED Insert Labels

Volvo produced some limited edition Polestar cars for the U.S. market. They added a numbered insert that fits into the 40 mm wide R Design steering wheel emblem location.
If you have this type of steering wheel you can have a numbered insert decal with any number of your choice.
Numbers may be changed to any custom number or text combination.
These custom labels have a matte/non-glare finish as original.

<<< Also available as a BLACK label with Gray text. This one was found on a U.S. 2015 Polestar model. Any custom number or text can be added.
