involves the removal of the instrument cluster and
then the removal of the turbo gauge from the back
of the cluster. Then the old gauge face can be
removed and this new one installed.

THOROUGH TESTING HAS BEEN DONE Accuracy of this Gauge Face These new faces are made using a translucent plastic material, similar to the plastic factory face. It retains a similar back-lighting effect that is found in your original gauge. However, the nighttime back-lighting of this face may appear slightly less than perfect . . . here's the explanation. The back-lighting of a Volvo 700 series instrument cluster relies on a series of clear plastic prisms behind the gauges that reflect light from only a couple of small bulbs. This makes getting perfectly even lighting a bit difficult when something changes, like adding numbers around the gauge. So lighting may appear a little uneven where portions of the gauge structure behind the face tend to block or shadow the light to areas in the face that were not lighted before. This has been a MINOR concern for users so far. All customers seem to be very happy and I think you will be too. |
