| WITH or WITHOUT H-C-F-E? Most sets by default will come WITH H-C-F-E Some LATE-1985 240 and all 1986-93 ORIGINAL 240 clusters came WITHOUT the 'H'-'C'-'F'-'E' in the Temp/Fuel gauges. Most customers choose to keep the 'H' 'C' 'F' 'E', even for LATER clusters. It's your choice. You may KEEP or REMOVE them if desired. No extra cost. |

Here's a customer who customized his instrument cluster below using this face overlay set above. 
PARTS USED: 1992 instrument circuit board, 1985 tachometer, 1981 black box/frame with some slight mods and 1981 warning light cell ribbon. The OD lamp in the 1992 warning ribbon is an UP ARROW for the automatic overdrive and that up arrow is your only option for a manual transmission OD or up-shift light option. Plus he didn't care for the high beam cell. He thought it was an ugly blue. He also preferred the white lettering on the warning cells or earlier clusters, which does not appear on a later cluster. After all these mods, now he has an OD OFF cell instead of the UP arrow and a nice cool blue for high beam. He had to modify things a little for the ABS and Check Engine Light, but he says it was well worth the time. The Bulb Warning Light is not used at all, since he deleted the bulb failure sensor completely. He's thinking of modding that cell for a Fog Lights On lamp, since he likes the green cell for that option on his 1981 GTX. Plus the earlier clusters have a blue lighting filter, which he preferred over the later amber filter.  Adhesion Promoter is recommended to
improve the installtion of gauge face overlays. It is
not needed in all situations, however if your car may be
subjected to high interior temperatures frequently
(parked outside) or many times over the years, the
adhesive on the backs of overlays can soften and allow
the edges to lift. Applying a little of this before
installation on the faceplate edges will greatly improve
adhesion. For convenience, a cotton swab is included.
This isn't some mythical snake-oil. It has been tested
and works great.Applying this stuff is easy. Dip the cotton swab in the liquid and smear the edges of the face plates where the overlays will be. It dries in seconds. CAUTION: Using this stuff makes things stick very well, so be careful when placing the overlay down. It will be harder to lift and re-position. OUT OF STOCK |

The photo on the left is a Yazaki speedometer face. Note the lower odometer windows are separated . This is unique to the Yazaki cluster. It isn't the only difference, but it will help identify your cluster without disassembing it. So if you have a Yazaki cluster, contact me before ordering faces (my email is at bottom of page).
