1. Below Photo: Style 2A WHITE=FACE YELLOW RING.

WITH or WITHOUT H-C-F-E?
Most sets by default will come WITH H-C-F-E
Some LATE-1985 240 and all 1986-93 ORIGINAL 240 clusters came WITHOUT the 'H'-'C'-'F'-'E' in the Temp/Fuel gauges. Most customers choose to keep the 'H' 'C' 'F' 'E', even for LATER clusters. It's your choice.
You may KEEP or REMOVE them if desired. No extra cost.

NOTE: A special 8,000 RPM** tachometer face is shown in this Style 2A above (this tach is not included unless requested).
Otherwise your overlay set will come with a 7,000 RPM tach (usually with 6,500 redline).
7,000 RPM tach faces with different redlines can also be requested at no extra charge.
**8,000 RPM Tach Note: Due to the mechanical limitations of this
Volvo tachometer, the needle will only rotate to a maximum of
about 7,200 RPM before hitting the internal limits. I doubt many of you will need a higher
reading than that.

THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR WHITE FACE SETS.
Three R-Sport logos are usually inserted (but you may make changes).

20. Below Photo: Speedo CONVERSION faces for
Style 2K Black-face, Blue/Yellow Ring
There is a difference in the calibration between the 120 MPH and 200 km/h speedometers. You cannot properly convert one to the other with normal face overlays.
The below photo shows two conversion face examples that are available to convert a 200 kmh speedo to accurately read as a 120 MPH speedo.
They can be added to an order for no extra charge. Email me if you have questions.

Adhesion Promoter is recommended to improve the installation of gauge face overlays. It is not needed in all situations, however if your car may be subjected to high interior temperatures frequently (parked outside) or many times over the years, the adhesive on the backs of overlays can soften and allow the edges to lift. Applying a little of this before installation on the faceplate edges will greatly improve adhesion. For convenience, a cotton swab is included. This isn't some mythical snake-oil. It has been tested and works great.

Applying this stuff is easy. Dip the cotton swab in the liquid and smear the edges of the face plates where the overlays will be. It dries in seconds. CAUTION: Using this stuff makes things stick very well, so be careful when placing the overlay down. It will be harder to lift and re-position.

VDO versus YAZAKI Instrument Cluster

A very large majority of 240 instrument clusters were made for Volvo by VDO, but there were a few made by Yazaki. So far, I have only heard of the Yazaki cluster appearing in a few European 240s. If you have a Yazaki cluster, the standard face overlays won't fit, but I can make overlays that will.
The photo on the left is a Yazaki speedometer face. Note the lower odometer windows are separated. This is unique to the Yazaki cluster. It isn't the only difference, but it will help identify your cluster without disassembling it first.
So if you have a Yazaki cluster, contact me before ordering faces.
